Master craftsman dry stone waller Richard Meller and his team work with you to create usable, exciting, enjoyable spaces using masonry and dry stone walling to transform your landscapes and gardens.

Dry stone gardens, landscapes and features

Richard has many years experience planning and landscaping gardens. His team combine stone work with extensive horticultural knowledge to transform any area.
Well constructed dry stone, being both flexible and free-draining, is an ideal material for hard landscaping. The natural beauty of dry stone is the perfect backdrop for plants, and is equally at home in a contemporary setting as in a traditional rural scene.

Dry stone walling is one of the first steps in transforming a garden. Once the levels have been found and the structure created, the rest of the garden can then take shape.

Stone buildings, and award winning stone cladding

A natural stone cladding can add a huge amount to a house or other structure. We are practised at creating a tight dry stone look with exterior stone cladding, as well as creating pointed mortared or lime claddings. We are also able to plan, design and build small-scale stone building projects such as summer houses, garden rooms and cabins.

This new built house was given a unique, bespoke cladding using a local stone. My team and I processed the stone to create this dry stone look and installed it, leading to a finish of the highest quality.

Estate features and larger landscapes

We have worked with individuals and organisations to build and restore features on estate grounds, country parks and large private gardens. Many of these features are traditional to the British countryside like ha-ha's and boundary walls, but can also be modern in design.

A Ha-ha is a dry stone retaining wall that is sunken in a ditch. It allows uninterrupted views while providing a barrier to livestock.
